K9 Adam / Buena Park Police Department, CA.
Police Service Dog (PSD) Adam is a two year old Belgium Malinois. He was bred in Slovakia and is SVV1 titled. This is the preliminary Slovak title for extensive tracking, on and off leash obedience, and protection. Similar Schutzund-1 except more demanding.
K9 Adam is a dual purpose canine trained in patrol and narcotic detection work. Patrol work includes on and off leash obedience, agility, tracking, building search, area search, article search, handler protection, and criminal apprehension. K9 Adam's narcotic detection includes Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Cocaine. K9 Adam will passively alert to these odors through several behavioral changes, which Handler/Officer Boyer is able to recognize both visually and audibly.
On June 22, 2018, K9 Adam and Handler/Officer Boyer graduated from Vohne Liche Kennels after successfully completing 320 hours of Dual Purpose Narcotic Detector Dog Handler Course. K9 Adam has also successfully completed the National Odor Recognition Test and earned a third party certification from the California Narcotic Canine Association (CNCA).
K9 Adam's field experience is limited however, during his first week on the job he detected a narcotic odor during a traffic stop. The detection led to a search of the vehicle. The search yielded approximately 24 pounds of methamphetamine.
We are pleased to announce that that through a private donor, K9 Adam now has his LOF Street Fighter harness.
The donation was made in loving memory of Buena Park Police Detective Daniel Ryan Ackerman.

K9 Kyra / Pasadena Police Department, CA.
This is Officer Prestwich and his partner K9 Kyra
They serve the City of Pasadena, CA assigned to the K9 Unit and the Counter Terrorism Unit.
Kyra is a 5 year old Dutch Sheppard, dual purpose dog, She is trained in
Explosive Detection and Apprehension.
Serving the City of Pasadena keeps this team on the go, there are numerous large venues within the city including the Pasadena Convention Center, Cal-Tech, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), The Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl which hosts numerous concerts and sporting events, college and professional.
K9 Vilo / Orem Police Department, Utah
This is PSD Vilo, his handler is Officer Gilstrap who has been a Law Enforcement Officer with Orem Police Department for three years. In this time he has progressed to be a part of the Firearms Staff and the SWAT Team. He has recently joined the K9 Unit with PSD Vilo.
PSD Vilo is a 3 1/2 year old German Shepherd / Belgium Malinios Mix. He has previously served with the Orem Police Department for the past two years as a dual purpose dog specializing in Narcotics Detection and Patrol work. Due to Vilo's desire to serve the community he was recently asked to join the BYU, Provo, Orem Metro SWAT Team.
PSD Vilo is currently certified in Narcotics with his new handler and plans to be certified in Patrol Apprehension by May 24, 2019 prior to his return to full duty.
